I shot these star trails from a ship in the Caribbean en-route to the Bahamian islands from the Virgin Islands, almost due north. This is almost the exact opposite technique usually used for shooting star trails, as the camera position moves with the ship and wave action, and the stars are fixed aside from the Earth's rotation. You can see the wave action, and a ship course correction displayed in the star trails.
